Professional Mentor

As a professional mentor, my role is to guide my mentee through his academic career. He is currently in his final year, studying Fine Arts at Middlesex University, and in the final throes of preparation for his dissertation. It has ben an interesting journey; COVID has brought its many challenges where his academic learning has been virtual.

Studying Effectively

It's important to have a balance of completed university projects and external projects/ experience of working with other artists) to add to a portfolio of work when an art student graduates; it gives an edge particularly during an interview. However managing a challenging workload during the final year requires a balance of work and rest as it is very easy to burn out and not complete the year or get the grade you deserve.

Imparting Knowledge

I have seen my mentee grow from strength to strength over the years. He is confident and ambitous and now working from his own studio in London. His art is inspiring and our conversations are always engaging and based around the community, community art and engaging spaces .
