Volunteer Mentor- Hundred of Hoo Academy

Mentoring Sessions
Today I finally took two online mentoring sessions with ‘The Hundred of Hoo Academy. I signed up to be a volunteer #mentor in the New Year and then COVID-19 happened and mentoring was halted.
The first sessions consisted of icebreaker questions with my ‘A’ level #mentees (one who wants to be a music writer and the other a teacher) which was quite revealing and interesting.
Study Skills
Our next session will address ways to improve their #study skills to help them build tools to get the best grades they require to head off to university- the next exciting chapter in their lives.
Learning From Young People
It is a privilege to be able to impart knowledge as well as learn from young people; we are never too old to learn. Both mentees are avid readers so I learnt about gothic and dystopian writers- this is not a genre I have read.
